creatures of the night begins as a form of long shadows, the day has ended and the night is soon to come. The Moon and the stars, living animals seek shelter at night creatures venture out. Raccoon, regal barn owl, field mice, crickets, frogs and toads singing and join all night adventure. Dancing lightening bugs, coyote, opossum mother and her baby, and swimming muskrats walk and jump and run. At the end of the night creatures begin to seek safety, the sun returns, and the day will soon begin.

Brooks Author and Illustrator Wilson have produced a comfortable working environment for the children. Creatures of the night's 32 page picture of the type of work. The story is told in verse. Illustrations are child friendly.

I took the book to school to read to my fourth grade: they are the inhabitant of my critics. They take their job as critical listeners very seriously. children expressed curiosity, respect and interest in the book. They liked the poetry, stories and illustrations. One girl felt the smiles on the faces of insects were inappropriate .... 'real' insects do not have a smiley face, however she felt was an appropriate illustration for this book, 'it's for little kids .'

Although the target audience for the creatures of the night> is more targeted at the 3-7 set, it is a business that holds an appeal to the 8 - 10 groups as they choose a book to read to younger brothers and sisters. Creatures of the night was reading to the younger set aged between 3 - 7, read alone for 8 -. 10 groups

and I enjoyed the stories, illustrations and poetry. Because I live 'at home' animals mentioned in this book are all very familiar me. I'm finding the creatures of the night will be paid in addition to our classroom library shelves. The book is an ongoing process of 'free reading' time the young people who read and enjoy for yourself, as you yourself are willing to read children from kindergarten every Monday.

creatures of the night was a good addition to homeschool reading curriculum, classroom libraries and children's personal reading shelf.
